For multiple years we have been planning initiatives within our coop of coffee farmers, allowing for better recognition of our female coffee farmers, and for this reason we decided to begin the process of becoming Women Care Certified.
The process of certification in based on the transparency and trust between all members of the chain in order to guarantee gender equity, access to resources, training, and to ensure women participate as equal partners at all levels of the coop.
The primary objective is to further recognize women so that they may improve their quality of life, the lives of their families, and the communities to which they belong. This also assures the effective participation of women and allows for the same opportunities to advance as leaders in the coop.
As part of these efforts, Cooagronevada has in their collection of coffee products a coffee made exclusively by women.
Cooagronevada’s Cafe Women’s is a product of our female associates and is a great homage to their hard work and labor. With this product we hope to corner both the local and national markets not just for the high-quality of the coffee, but with the fact that to buy this coffee you are supporting social and environmental projects as well as the recognition of women.
Following this theme within the coop we are creating a series of trainings which look for women coffee farmers who make up important parts of society and give them the tools they need to strengthen their participation at both the local and national levels.
